| long time no post... guess i've gotten out of the blogosphere.
recently i've been spending a lot of time playing GTA4 ... i will say that it's quite a violent game, but the comprehensive detail of this game is just amazing. it plays like a movie. there are so many small details in the game that are interesting; for instance, for those of you with GSM phones (att, etc) you know that sometimes you'll get that weird static if you get too close to speakers... and if a call is coming in it will usually pulse out and make the noise. they actually took the time to put that into the game, and sometimes a cell phone call is preceded by some interference on the car radio.
another detail i love is how the garbage trucks driving around town actually have two people standing on the back.. just like the city garbage collectors... yep.
anyway, i wouldn't recommend the game for any young kids or anyone who doesn't want to see some pretty R-rated violence. but, you can probably complete most of the game in a relatively nice way (other than the missions where you need to take out a house load of gangsters).
other than that, life has been pretty normal. i'm loving this sense of .. life.. going on i'm getting. it seems like time is going by, but i really don't have anything to rush or anything to regret.. just kind of enjoying the ride. actually, that's a great phrase for my current stage of life... "enjoying the ride." and i hope all of you out there are as well. cuz in the end, there really is nothing else. what's the point of working your ass off if you don't even enjoy the rest of your life? living life is all there really is, and you can only do so much to store up for a rainy day.

| so, i feel like i need to make a compulsory end-of-college post for my xanga so that i can read back on in years and years from now.
it's pretty weird finishing college and realizing that i have to start working soon. i've been celebrating that by just relaxing a whole lot the last few weeks, really haven't been doing anything productive at all. but i haven't slept so well in years... haha. i dunno what i'll be doing for the next two months, but probably just relax more. play a lot of wii and WoW... yes... i've gotten addicted.
the past 3.5 years blazed by.. from my days at parkside, then my issues with going from engineering to business.. .struggling thru business courses.. then finishing my last two semesters pretty strongly. sad that i got my best grades when i had the hardest classes / semesters. (19/20 units)... i think i just need to learn to challenge myself. that, and i need to be interested in what i do or else i'll really suck at it .. kind of... on purpose-ly.
college has really helped me grow as a person... in responsibility, in communication in the workplace, in .. almost every aspect of life i'd say. a great experience. and i truly enjoyed being at USC, i would recommend any juniors/seniors in high school to consider it. plus, our 'ranking' continues to rise every year (for those asian parent bragging rights). also, i think individual students get a lot more focus and consulting, and a lot of resources are available to you. then again, it does cost you a lot. lol.
anyway, college is over... kind of a happy, bittersweet time where i'm excited to move on, a little sad to leave the place thats been 'home' for the last 4 years, and definitely eager to see what's in store for the next few years of my life.
on an unrelated note, i have to say, our wii(s) have been a big hit. (my brother decided he wouldn't wait until i got home from college and he bought his own wii..) it's great to see a video game console that my parents will actually come play themselves, even when we're not around. and the small features they have like the virtual console (Backlog of many old nintendo games, etc)... the internet channel (surf on your couch)... the weather stuff... the photo channel.. everything works pretty well. and its intuitive. even games like madden are fun with actions to represent catching, hiking the ball, etc. i can't wait to see what else nintendo can put out next year. i don't even know how many people have been over to play... probably over 50.
anyway... mostly been getting a lot of errands done, learning to cook a few things, doing random tasks for my mom/dad that my sis/bro are too lazy to do, and other.. random things. lemme know whats up. later. | | |
